North Wood Blanket Co. Open for Business.

March 21, 2005 - North Wood Blanket Co., a wholesale and retail company of recycled wool blankets and personalized products, today announced it is now open for business in Canada. Owner and designer, Lori Norwood, has been perfecting her process for the company’s wool and personalized products, since the conception of the company in April 2004

Wool Products:

At the North Wood Blanket Co., we rescue beautiful wool sweaters from heading to the landfill site and craft them into heirloom quality blankets. The sweaters are sourced from various second hand & thrift stores throughout the studio area. Once acquired, the sweaters are washed using a unique process designed to enhance the natural qualities of the fibre. They are then cut, sorted and sewn into our fabulous products. We choose colour combinations that are appealing to the eye and will fit into any décor. Our wool products include throw blankets and baby blankets.

• Our throw blankets are 54” x 66”; a great size to cuddle up with on a cold night at home or cottage. Made from warm, soft wool sweaters our throws are available in a wide range of colours.

• Our baby blankets are 32” x 40”; the perfect size to tuck around baby on a cool autumn outing. Made from our softest sweaters in the most beautiful baby colours our baby blankets make a wonderful gift for a little baby.

Personalized Products:

Our line of personalized products is unique from our wool products division. We use 100 % cotton towels, bath sheets and pillowcases and personalize them for our customers (custom order). Customers choose the towel or pillowcase colour and match it with an assortment of fabrics to complement. Letters are then cut and sewn on using a zig-zag stitch. Letters are approximately 2.5 inches as a finished height. These make great gifts for children and grown-ups alike.

Pricing & Availability:

Wool throws and baby blankets can be ordered by calling or e-mailing the North Wood Blanket Co. Baby blankets are $149.00 and throws are $299.00 (MSRP) and will be distributed on a wholesale basis to merchants. Wholesale pricing is available for merchants upon request. Bath towels are $15.00, bath sheets $22.00, pillowcases $12.00, and Halloween bags $15.00. Letters are an additional $3.00 each with a four letter minimum.
